Planet Alameda ::: Your Island City's Environmental Resource Guide for a Healthy Planet

It's not only the money. It’s our resources. According to the California Department of Conservation, “Every bottle and can you recycle eases the strain on our natural resources and reduces greenhouse gases in our skies.” Recycling bottles and cans benefits the environment in a variety of ways. Materials that are reused reduce the demand for more mining and gas & oil drilling activities; recycled materials don't wind up in landfills; they don't litter our cities, parks, open spaces, and waterways. Recycling is the better choice.
